Session Fees
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) and Australian Association of Psychologist Inc. (AAPi) recommended fee for psychological services is $330 for 46 to 60 minute consultation however we believe that Psychology support should be accessible for those who need it.
Session fees at Mindwise Psychology are $250 for 50 minute sessions.
Private Sessions
You are able to see a Psychologist as a private paying client without a referral letter from a GP. It is recommended that you involve your GP in your care so that you get the best support you need.

Medicare Rebates
If you would like to receive Medicare rebates on your sessions, you will need to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)/ Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) and a referral from your GP. You are entitled to Medicare rebates of $145.25 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year (Jan-Dec).
A GP referral letter is valid until the referred number of sessions have been used (this includes sessions with any previous Psychologist you might have seen).
Please note that in order for the referral to be valid it should contain the following information:

Here are some simple steps to help you get started with this process:​​

Book and attend an appointment with your GP and request a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

Ask your GP Clinic to send us the MHCP via fax or ask for a copy of your MHCP and provide this to our practice.

You will then be entitled to 6 rebatable sessions with a psychologist. After using them, if you and your psychologist believe you need more sessions, you would need to return to your GP to request for a referral for 4 more rebatable sessions.
Private Health Insurance

If you have Private Health Cover, you may be eligible for rebates for your Psychology session. Please check your coverage with your Private Health Fund to confirm this.
Note: You cannot claim a Medicare rebate and a private health insurance rebate at the same time.
Workcover
​
Please provide referral from your GP and insurer approval to our practice.
We require the following details prior to booking you in for a session:

-Worker's name, address and date of birth
-Insurer name
-Date of injury
Cancellation policy
Cancellations less than 48 hours may attract a cancellation fee. We request that you provide as much notice of a cancellation as possible to ensure someone on the waitlist needing support can get the care they need. ​

Fee Policy
Fees are subject to increase at the discretion of Mindwise Psychology. Clients will be provided with six weeks notice of any changes to fee schedule applicable to them. Fee increases are anticipated to occur at the start of the calendar year.
